Bowstreet™ changes the economics of Web application development and maintenance through its award-winning automation framework and patent-pending reusable software components. With Bowstreet, development teams can rapidly build adaptive portlets, Web Services, or J2EE web applications that stand alone or integrate directly into an existing infrastructure. Unlike with traditional RAD tools, Bowstreet-built applications are inherently designed for maximum adaptability allowing for the creation of multiple iterations from a single model without the need for costly reprogramming.

Challenge:
In 2002, Bowstreet wanted a Web site that more accurately reflected their company’s image.  They also needed a front-end design that would work with their back-end content management software, Interwoven, and required that it be easy to update and maintain over time.  By 2004, Bowstreet’s strategic direction and marketing message had changed.  In order to communicate these changes effectively to their customers, Bowstreet’s Web site had to be updated.

Solutions:
For the original site, Vollusia created a design that integrated seamlessly with the Interwoven software.  Knowing that Bowstreet wanted a design that would last for some time, Vollusia stayed with crisp, clean images and layouts, avoiding the ‘style du jour’ trap.  This approach paid off when it was time for the site refresh in 2004.  Since Vollusia had created a timeless design, the updates were executed quickly and efficiently.  Vollusia reorganized the site architecture streamlining various sections and adding new content.  The imagery and verbiage on the site was also revised to reflect Bowstreet’s evolution.

Results:
The Bowstreet site build and refreshes were completed in a timely and cost-effectively manner.  The Bowstreet Web site is easy for staffers to change, without risking corruption of data or changes in site look and feel.  Bowstreet’s sales force, staffers and customers applaud the site, finding it easy to use and complimenting its new look. Looking to the future, the strategic design of the site gives it the flexibility to continually evolve with Bowstreet’s business needs over time.
